Recommendations:
  • Use 15 or more characters (minimum is 10, and maximum is 40).
  • Use a combination of full words, abbreviations, and punctuaton/symbols.
  • Use something memorable, but nonsensical (e.g. "PurPle CAT $1-hat & 3BaLLoons" is much better than "The cat in the hat came back!").
  • Include at least 1 number and 1 symbol, but don't simply tack them on the end.
  • Do not use numbers or symbols as letter substitutions (e.g. 3 for E, or ! for 1); they are no better than the letters they replace.
